About The House of Hope

A safe haven where community is stronger than breast cancer...

A safe haven where community is stronger than breast cancer...

Opened in 2025, The House of Hope is Scotland's first permanent community-based support and wellbeing centre specifically for those impacted by breast cancer. We welcomed our first visitors in the summer of 2025, and we are continuing to grow and expand our services.

Located within Edinburgh, the house provides a vital haven for our breast cancer community to access funded wellbeing and holistic therapies and services away from the sterile hospital or clinical setting.

Breast Cancer will impact 1 in 7 women in Scotland during their lifetime. The House of Hope provides invaluable and much-needed services and support for anyone in Scotland impacted by Breast Cancer.

The NHS does not have the operational resources or funding to provide additional holistic care and support for breast cancer patients in and around Edinburgh. This is where The House of Hope fills the void and works in synergy with existing organisations across the Scottish Cancer Network.

Our Vision

Our Vision

To provide support to those affected by breast cancer

"Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always." - Wendy Mass

The vision is now a reality.

The House of Hope is Scotland’s first bespoke breast cancer support and wellbeing centre, and our doors are open to welcome you. We exist to improve the quality of life for people impacted by breast cancer by offering a calm, nurturing space away from the sterile and clinical hospital environment — a place that complements medical treatment and puts wellbeing, connection and compassion at its heart.

The centre provides a sanctuary for anyone affected by breast cancer, at any stage and in any way. Through fully funded, carefully tailored workshops, classes, holistic therapies and support groups, we help people feel empowered, supported and less alone. Our aim is to tackle the social isolation that so often comes with a breast cancer diagnosis and to create a community where people feel understood, connected and held.

The House of Hope is a place to pause, to breathe, and to simply be, whether you’re seeking support, strength, rest or connection.

“A breast cancer diagnosis at any stage can feel all-consuming. It can impact every part of your life. Inspired by the personal support I received from Future Dreams House in London, The House of Hope was created to be a haven away from the outside world — a safe space where those impacted by breast cancer can be who they need to be, while finding connectivity, compassion and community.”
