"Denis' Strictly for Hope Dance Competition"'s Story
I'm delighted (and slightly terrified!) to announce that I'll be taking part in the Strictly for Hope Gala Ball on 4 September 2026 at Prestonfield House, Edinburgh.As one of only two complete novice dancers, I'll be partnering with professional dance instructors and learning a full routine before taking part in a live dance-off on the night.Anyone who knows me will know that singing on stage is one thing — ballroom dancing is quite another! But this challenge is about something far more important than dancing.The event is raising vital funds for The House of Hope...
I'm delighted (and slightly terrified!) to announce that I'll be taking part in the Strictly for Hope Gala Ball on 4 September 2026 at Prestonfield House, Edinburgh.
As one of only two complete novice dancers, I'll be partnering with professional dance instructors and learning a full routine before taking part in a live dance-off on the night.
Anyone who knows me will know that singing on stage is one thing — ballroom dancing is quite another! But this challenge is about something far more important than dancing.
The event is raising vital funds for The House of Hope, Scotland's first dedicated support and wellbeing centre for people affected by breast cancer. The charity provides a range of services, therapies, workshops and community support to help people through diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
Every rehearsal, every lesson and every nervous step onto the dance floor will be in support of this incredible cause.

As well as throwing myself at the mercy of a professional dancer for the evening, I have also reserved one of the round tables. I appreciate that there are many worthwhile fundraising causes going around but as part of your generousity, l am donating two places at the table to the person who donates the largest amount to my fundraising page by midnight Saturday 26th August 2026.
