Nikki Kyle's Story
Hello, and thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page 🥰
I first met Lisa, the founder of House of Hope, through Instagram, and we met in person at the Edinburgh Playhouse. As we chatted, Lisa shared her journey; her breast cancer diagnosis and the incredible work she does through House of Hope to support others living with breast cancer, as well as the families affected by it.
What truly stayed with me was learning that Lisa self-funds House of Hope, all while going through treatment herself. I couldn’t stop thinking about her strength and selflessness.
The following week, while out on one of my usual runs (my thinking time!), Lisa kept coming to mind. Around mid-May, I completed a 25km run, and afterwards my amazing husband Davie said, “You’ve got a marathon in you.” My first reaction was, “Yeah, right!”
I have never run that distance before and never imagined I would. In fact, I used to hate running!
But over the next few runs, I started to wonder… maybe he was right. I pushed myself to 30km and realised I could do it.
And not only that, I wanted to do it, for a reason bigger than myself.
So I made the decision: if Lisa can run House of Hope while undergoing treatment, then I can run a marathon to support her incredible cause.
I’m proud (and nervous!) to say that I’ve signed up for the Run Scotland Rannoch Marathon in Pitlochry on 11th October 2026!
This will be a huge challenge for me, but it’s all for an amazing cause. Every single donation, no matter how big or small, means the world and will go directly to House of Hope.
Thank you so much for your support ❤️
