Chris Rankin

Wellbeing Practitioner

Chris is a Social Worker with 25 years’ of experience in the field supporting adults, children and families.  Chris is an experienced practitioner; working with adults and children impacted by disability and life-limiting conditions early in her career and more recently specialising in the adoption field where her special interest was supporting families and children facing challenges following adoption.  Chris is a trauma-informed practitioner whose goal is to offer support and nurturing through connection and building relationships.

After her own diagnosis of Breast Cancer in 2024 and the treatment which followed, Chris had the opportunity to take a break and consider what she wanted the next phase of her life to look like.  Enter the House of Hope! Chris was searching for support following her own diagnosis and was keen to connect with other women, to learn from them, to understand what helped and what to expect as she went through the stages of treatment.   Understanding House of Hopes's vision to make sure no one faces breast cancer alone Chris was inspired to bring her skills in coordinating support and well-being to the project.  Initially, as a volunteer, Chris participated in our successful Well-being day held in October 2024 and joined our team as our Well-Being practitioner.

Chris hopes to bring a wide range of groups, practitioners, and therapies to the House and is excited to welcome you to a nurturing and supportive space.
