Chris Rankin

Voluntary Advisor

Chris is a Social Worker with 25 years’ experience in the field supporting adults, children and families. Chris is an experienced practitioner, working with adults and children impacted by disability and life limiting conditions early in her career and more recently specialising in the adoption field, where her special interest was supporting families and children facing challenges following adoption. Chris is a trauma informed practitioner whose goal is to offer support and nurturing through connection and building relationships.

After her own diagnosis of breast cancer in 2024 and the treatment which followed, Chris had the opportunity to take a break and consider what she wanted the next phase of her life to look like. During this time, Chris was searching for support following her diagnosis and was keen to connect with other women, to learn from them, and to understand what helped as she went through the stages of treatment. Understanding the House of Hope’s vision to make sure no one faces breast cancer alone, Chris was inspired to bring her skills in coordinating support and wellbeing to the project. Chris was previously the House of Hope’s Wellbeing Practitioner and is now a Voluntary Advisor, continuing to support the charity and its community.
