Most people don't realise that breast cancer is not just one disease. There are actually nearer 20 types. Therefore treatment pathways are very individual now, because of the multiple pathological factors of each person’s own particular breast cancer. One of these factors being; the type of breast cancer they have. In response to this and to what visitors to House of Hope have requested, we are setting up specific support groups for lobular breast cancer, triple negative breast cancer and for those affected by the BRCA gene mutation, as each of these subtypes have slightly different investigations and treatments. By doing this we hope that it will feel less confusing and isolating for those who may not have one of the more common breast cancers. Obviously anyone with any breast cancer is always also welcome to come to the HOH at anytime and join any general support group or house activity.
Lobular breast cancers accounts for 15% of breast cancer diagnosis so we are starting off these groups, with a Lobular breast cancer support group on 11/8/26, here at the house between 18 00-19 45 and we would be pleased to see you there, if you'd like more support after a lobular breast cancer diagnosis.
