After being diagnosed with breast cancer at just 20 years old, Kayla understands first hand how isolating a diagnosis at a young age can feel. Following her treatment, she began volunteering with breast cancer charities in 2007, supporting other young women going through similar experiences.
In 2016, Kayla was diagnosed with a second primary breast cancer and went through treatment again. Her experiences led her to become involved in a wide range of fundraising and volunteering initiatives within the breast cancer community, before going on to train as a counsellor, which she is now qualified in.
As Visitor Experience Coordinator at the House of Hope, Kayla is passionate about helping people who have been impacted by breast cancer feel supported, understood and less alone, particularly younger women navigating diagnosis and treatment. She is married, has a daughter, and loves spending time with friends and family.
